What is a Breast Lift (Mastopexy)?
As a woman’s skin ages and becomes less elastic, the breasts have a natural tendency to sag and droop. Breast lift, or mastopexy, is a plastic surgery procedure that restores shape and firmness to the breasts. For women who desire greater volume as well as firmness, breast augmentation may be performed in conjunction with the breast lift procedure.

Am I a Candidate for Breast Lift Surgery?
The best candidates for breast lift surgery are women with small or sagging breasts. Women who have lost elasticity due to pregnancy or who have lost weight are also good candidates. Women who are planning to become pregnant may want to postpone surgery but breast lift surgery should not affect your ability to breastfeed.
To find out if you are a candidate, contact us to arrange a breast lift evaluation.
How Does A Breast Lift Work?
Prior to your surgery, Dr. Kjar will give you specific preoperative guidelines. Carefully follow these instructions. Breast lift surgery generally takes one and a half to three hours to complete. Incisions are made around the areola and from the initial incision to the underside of the breast. The areola is moved into a higher position, and excess skin is removed.
Any pain in recovery from breast lift surgery can typically be managed easily with prescription pain medication. Your breast lift procedure will include a consultation and services from Candessa Aesthetics at no extra cost, which will also help to improve your recovery.
