Cleft Lip

Clefts occur in the oral region and often involve the lip, the roof of the mouth (the hard palate), or the soft tissue in the back of the mouth (soft palate). Thanks to numerous medical advancements, there are effective treatments for oral clefting. Reconstructive surgery can repair cleft lips and palates, and in severe cases, plastic surgery can address specific aesthetic concerns.

Dr. Kjar is an active member of Operation Smile, a non-profit organization dedicated to aiding indigent children and young adults throughout the world. For more information about cleft lip or palate repair, contact our Salt Lake City Area office.
